The Memphis Brass Quintet is the professional brass ensemble in residence at the University of Memphis' Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music. Founded in 1993, the quintet is made up of distinguished faculty members that bring a wide range of performing experience to the ensemble. With a varied repertoire that includes music from the Renaissance and Baroque, Contemporary American composers and Jazz standards, the MBQ has developed a loyal following for their outstanding artistic concert presentations throughout the Americas. The musicians of the MBQ are David Spencer and Ben Lewis, trumpets; Daniel Phillips, horn; John Mueller, trombone and Kevin Sanders, tuba. Bring your valentine to this eclectic program that promises to move the senses. Concert is free and open to the public. Donations welcome. |
