Liturgy

The Mirriam-Webster dictionary defines "liturgy" as rite or body of rites prescribed for public worship. There are many moving parts to our rich liturgy that offer opportunities to serve.

Ushers:  Contact George Clarke, Jr

Greeters:  Contact Mickey Mitchell

Readers:  These are people that read the lesson during our services.  Contact:  Ty Legge

Children's Chapel:

Children ages 4-9 are welcome to gather in the back of the nave before the service and process in behind the children's cross.  We march to the Sister's Chapel where we have our own version of worship, following the liturgical calendar.  Please contact Lisa McIndoo, Director of Creative Ministries for more information.

Eucharistic Minister:  Serving at the altar can be a deeply spiritual experience.  Through the training to become a Eucharistic Minister, one can learn more about our rich tradition and liturgy.  Contact Canon Laura F. Gettys or Deacon Drew Woodruff for more information about training and serving at the altar.

Acolytes:

(young and not-so-young) are always needed.  It is a great way to be a living part of the liturgy here at our Cathedral. Email

Altar Guild:  The Altar Guild is responsible for the maintenance and preparation of the altar and its furnishings. Joanne Statham heads this committee.  Call the church office for more info:  527-3361.
