Cathedral Choir

St. Mary’s Cathedral has a long tradition of musical excellence, and our worship and music reflect this heritage while being ever flexible to remain vibrant and living. Our music is rooted in the great Anglican choral tradition, and the St. Mary’s Cathedral Choir repertoire includes music from Tudor England through 21st-century America. Nevertheless, music at St. Mary’s is eclectic, and we joyfully sing hymns and anthems from other traditions, including the vast repertoire of African-American spirituals, a touch of Southern Gospel, and occasionally music from around the world. The Cathedral Choir is a mixed-voice ensemble comprised of 25 volunteers and paid section leaders. The choir’s primary role is to lead the cathedral congregation in corporate song, and the choir thus leads worship every Sunday of the year, in addition to other holy and feast days.
